The Good News about Brexit, NI Candles and You…

2 mins read

After what feels like a lifetime of uncertainty, we can finally share the news of how Brexit will affect you when purchasing your candle-making supplies from us (don’t worry, it’s even better than we expected).

Business as Usual (Despite Brexit)

While it’s business as usual for us sending parcels to you in the EU, you will need to familiarise yourself with any changes to the requirements in your own country in relation to goods sent from Northern Ireland. The rules in NI differ from the rules from GB.

We’ll still be able to send supplies to you in the EU as we were doing prior to Brexit and there won’t be any additional clearance processes, import duties, or taxes that apply to your shipment. If you are not VAT registered in your own country, you will continue to be charged 20% VAT as you were prior to Brexit.

How will shipping affect me?

We have had to make some adjustments to the shipping services and rates available to you. See our full shipping service and rates here.

From the 1st of January 2021, pricing to ROI (Republic of Ireland) increased to £5.76* and shipping with Royal Mail for up to 2 kilograms to GB and within NI increased to

- £4.92* for a 24 hour tracked parcel

- £3.86* for a 48 hour tracked parcel * prices exclude VAT

Euro Priority service is no longer available to some destinations and the following will now move via the Euro Economy service instead:

    • Guernsey
    • Jersey
    • Andorra
    • Canary Islands
    • Gibraltar
    • Vatican City State
    • Azores Islands
    • Balearic Islands
    • Madeira
    • San Marino
    • Monaco

In line with the latest lockdown restriction for COVID-19, we have suspended our collection service once more until further notice.

What’s happening with our supplies & UFI Compliance...

We will be providing an update on our stock going forward as well as our UFI compliance at the end of this month. If you’re based in Northern Ireland or Europe and you need to read up on why your products need a UFI number, you can get some more information here.

The UFI requirements for makers based in Great Britain have been simplified following the UK’s departure from the EU; the following link outlines what’s now required of you if you are selling in the UK only.

If you’d like to be notified of these coming updates, you can sign up to our mailing list below.

Now you can shop candle-making supplies with peace of mind. Happy days.
