Description
Description
Golden Wax 464 is a natural soy wax containing a soy based additive to reduce frosting and increase fragrance load. The wax is Natural and Kosher. The lower melt point of this wax enables it to have improved jar adhesion and helps prevent wet spots making it a good replacement for CB-Advanced.
Our testing has found this wax works well when heated to around 85°C with fragrance added at 70°C before being poured slowly into warmed glassware immediately after stirring. For us this has resulted in smooth tops and perfect adhesion in clear / transparent glassware. Please note however the ideal pouring temperature may vary depending on container size and room temperature therefore proper testing in small batches is always recommended and our testing cannot take the place of your own testing.
This wax benefits from a slow cool to help reduce the likelihood of polymorphism/frosting, ideally candles should be placed on a wire rack for cooling and rapid changes in temperature should be avoided during this cooling process. This wax is prone to circular surface cracking, but this can usually be reduced/eliminated by good temperature control.
We would suggest a cure time of 10-14 days before burning.
Melt Point: 45 - 48°C
Pour Temperature: 60 - 80°C depending on container size and room temperature.
Max Fragrance: 10% although 7-8% is usually plenty in this wax.
I always purchase the Golden Wax 464 from NI Candle Supplies. I find the wax easy to work with and NI Candles an absolute pleasure with quick delivery!

This is my first time using 464. I have been using parasoy and paraffin. Its very easy to work with, but I didn't get the lovely smooth finish when poured. I would am confident that this is an error on my behalf.
